Távula the café partner for McCall Community Hub
MCCALL Foundation has announced Távula as the café and restaurant partner for its new $55M Community Hub at Box Hill.
Távula, meaning “table” in Italian, reflects a simple philosophy. No matter who you are or where you come from, there is always a seat at the table.
The Café/restaurant which will also feature a deli will be operated by hospitality couple Beth and Marcus Colosimo, who currently run two other local venues, Temptations and the Bird in the Hand in Pitt Town.
McCall Foundation CEO Belinda Colombrita said the partnership reflects a shared commitment to inclusion and community connection.
“After visiting Beth and Marcus’ other venues many times and talking through our vision for the Hub, it was clear we share the same belief in creating a place where everyone feels welcome.” Ms Colombrita said.
“Their passion for hospitality, along with delicious food and great coffee, makes them a wonderful fit.”
“Over the past five years we’ve had the privilege of sharing our love for cooking, good food and building a strong sense of community,” Ms Colosimo said. “That love comes from our late Nonna, whose home was always full of people, laughter and food. Everyone was welcome at her table.”
The McCall Community Hub will bring together McCall’s corporate services, allied health and community programs, alongside social and skills spaces, an aquatic centre and swim school, function areas and the new café/restaurant, “Távula.
Two state heritage listed buildings, Box Hill House and Nelson Hall, will also be activated as spaces for local businesses, exhibitions and community gatherings.
“Távula’s mission to bring people together over great food aligns beautifully with our vision for the Hub,” Ms Colombrita said.
