The Odyssey a hit with film fans
CHRISTOPHER Nolan's The Odyssey has delivered Australia's biggest box office opening of 2026, grossing $13.4M and attracting more than 587,000 cinema-goers during its debut weekend. The film also achieved the highest-ever opening weekend for a non-franchise release in Australia and earned a 95% critics' rating on Rotten Tomatoes. HOYTS CEO Damian Keogh said the blockbuster drove the cinema chain's biggest weekend of the year, with premium formats proving especially popular.
