Opposition leader visits local Hawkesbury businesses

NSW Opposition Leader Kellie Sloane MP and Member for Hawkesbury Robyn Preston MP met at Hypro Pet Foods in Wilberforce and Better Built Homes in North Richmond recently.

The visit weas to showcase how the Liberals and Nationals payroll tax plan will support local businesses, protect jobs and help create new opportunities across Hawkesbury.

Hypro is a family-owned business showcasing an example of the innovation, hard work and investment happening within the Hawkesbury community. The business employs around 100 local staff and has ambitious plans to expand and create even more jobs.

The NSW Liberals and Nationals plan to raise the payroll tax threshold from $1.2M to $1.5M, reduce the payroll tax rate from 5.45% to 4.75% for eligible businesses and index both thresholds to inflation.

This plan will help businesses reinvest in their operations and employ more people.

During their visit, Ms Sloane and Ms Preston were also invited to attend the Better Built Homes site at North Richmond to hear directly from another local employer about the pressures faced by building companies and tradies, discussing how proposed payroll tax changes would support their growth.

Small and medium businesses are the backbone of Hawkesbury.

Raising the payroll tax threshold will see that businesses are supported through the reduction of unnecessary costs, which in turn will help them to grow.
