AFTER years of uncertainty, the finalisation of the Riverstone Town Centre Masterplan brings long-awaited clarity, confidence, and momentum back to one of the North West’s most historic and important centres a real turning point for Riverstone.

The North West Business Chamber acknowledges and thanks NSW MP Warren Kirby and the NSW Government for their leadership and advocacy in bringing this plan to completion.

For too long, Riverstone businesses have operated in a holding pattern, investing in their community, employing locals, and keeping the town centre alive despite a lack of clear direction and limited investment.

The plan delivers the certainty local businesses have long been calling for and rightfully deserve. It unlocks a future where Riverstone can once again thrive as a strategic centre of the North West.

The finalised plan sets the framework for:

• Approximately 1,200 new local jobs.
• Around 2,850 new homes.
• Over 10 hectares of open space, creating a greener, more connected town centre.
• A revitalised main street, improved transport connections, and renewed public spaces. This is an economic and social reset.

For local businesses, it signals renewed confidence to invest, expand, and employ. For the community, it means a town centre that is active, accessible, and designed for the future.

We recognise the resilience of Riverstone’s business community. For many years, businesses in Riverstone have continued to serve their community without the benefit of major reinvestment or long-term planning certainty and this finalisation brings a wave of relief.

It provides a clear pathway forward one that supports existing businesses while creating space for new enterprise, new services, and new opportunities.

Importantly, the plan allows for the gradual evolution of the town centre, ensuring businesses can transition, adapt and grow over time.

Riverstone is a place of history, connection, and local identity. This plan respects that character while positioning Riverstone to meet the needs of a rapidly growing region.

With renewed investment, improved infrastructure, and expanded open spaces, Riverstone now has the opportunity to reclaim its role as a true local hub a place where people work, gather, and belong.

The North West Business Chamber looks forward to working alongside government, council, businesses and the community to ensure this plan is delivered in a way that reflects local values and supports long-term success.
